The Changbai mountain is home to the cultivation and wild growing of the famous ginseng roots.

The south of Jilin Province (Tonghua, Baishan districts and Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture) bordering North Korea in the south by the Songhua river and Russia in the East is a mountainous region full of pine and deciduous forests, little to none industries, traditional small villages and various natural reserves.

The region is home to the renowned Changbai mountain with its crater lake. Changbai mountain is know as Paektu Mountain to the Korean people and they consider it as their holy mountain.
